Gabbard on a visit to India met the PM, NSA and Defence Minister. In an interview with news channel NDTV, Gabbard said, “The longtime unfortunate persecution, killing, and abuse of religious minorities like Hindus, Buddhists, Christians, and others has been a major area of concern for the US and President Trump.” She also focused on the ideology of Islamic Caliphate.
On Sunday Gabbard met National Security Advisor Ajit Doval and participated at the global intelligence meeting in New Delhi.
Doval and Gabbard discussed ways to strengthen intelligence sharing, security in the Indo-Pacific region, controlling terror funding and money laundering, extradition issues and Khalistani terrorism.
Last year then President Joe Biden met Chief Adviser Md Yunus, and offered Washington’s “continued support” for Dhaka. Critics believe that the previous Biden administration allegedly played a role to remove Sheikh Hasina from power.
