Isaias could become the first hurricane of the 2026 Atlantic hurricane season if it reaches hurricane strength by October 8, News 6 reported. The storm's exact path remains uncertain. Current projections indicate that Isaias could make landfall somewhere between eastern Louisiana and the western Florida Panhandle. Due to Isaias, heavy rainfall is expected in the region. Some areas could receive 3 to 6 inches of rain, while isolated locations could see as much as 10 inches. Rain could begin affecting parts of the Gulf Coast as early as Friday and continue into the weekend. The storm could also bring coastal flooding, strong winds and tornadoes as its rainbands move across the region. The NHC said the storm's exact track remained uncertain but warned that Isaias could approach the Gulf Coast late this week.
