Are you harbouring thoughts of revenge instead of romance this Valentine's Day? Do you perceive your former partner as vermin rather than charming? Perhaps you wish they would never have children?

If yes, then you have a chance to take some of your frustration out this Valentine's Day.
In US, zoos and animal sanctuaries are offering unique ways to channel post-relationship negativity whilst raising funds. These organisations have created amusing fundraising initiatives targeting those whose romantic endeavours went awry.

The available choices include naming a stray cat after your former partner before its sterilisation, or designating your ex's name to rodents or cockroaches destined as prey. The Minnesota Zoo's initiative to name insects has garnered worldwide participation.

According to reports, there were numerous social media posts about these anti-Valentine campaigns, including the option to name a hissing cockroach.

As per AP, Anchorage's Bird Treatment and Learning Center has one such program. "It's all in good humour," explained Laura Atwood, the centre's executive director. The funds support staff wages and bird care - they rehabilitated 580 birds last year. The campaign raised over $18,000 before closing Wednesday. The demand was so high, with over 130 rats purchased, they temporarily exhausted their frozen rodent supply until Wednesday's delivery.

Donors receive videos of raptors like Ghost, a snowy owl swallowing rats whole, or Breland, a peregrine falcon methodically consuming its prey.

A cheaper £10 option allows naming a mealworm before it becomes food for crows or magpies, with videos shared on social media.

Tennessee's Memphis Zoo offers dual options in their "Dating or Dumping" campaign - one for admirers, another for adversaries, each costing $10. Happy couples receive a digital card and family-friendly footage of a red panda eating grapes. Those bearing grudges get their card with elephant defecation footage marked "Scent with Love."

Post-Valentine's, the zoo will share a compilation showing commemorated names and highlighting the most frequent submissions for both categories.
