Taylor Swift's $100 million property empire: Christmas tree farm, beachfront mansion, new york penthouses and more

Taylor Swift has dominated the music industry, broken streaming records and sold out stadiums worldwide. Away from the stage, the 14-time Grammy winner has also built a multimillion-dollar real estate portfolio spanning some of the most sought-after neighbourhoods in the US.

From her family's Christmas tree farm in Pennsylvania to luxury properties in Nashville, New York, Rhode Island and California, Swift's homes reflect different stages of her life and career. Her property holdings are estimated to be worth well over $100 million, making real estate another major part of the pop star's fortune, reported TOI.

Here's a look at Taylor Swift's property portfolio.

From Pennsylvania roots to Nashville dreams

Swift's connection with real estate began with an 11-acre Christmas tree farm near Reading, Pennsylvania. Her father, Scott Swift, bought the property from one of his clients and managed it alongside his job at Merrill Lynch.

The farm later inspired Swift's 2019 song Christmas Tree Farm, according to Refinery29.

The family eventually moved to a five-bedroom Georgian Colonial home in Wyomissing, Pennsylvania. It was there that Swift developed her interest in music and learned to play the guitar.

At 14, she convinced her parents to move to Nashville so she could pursue a career in country music. Five years later, at 20, she made her first real estate purchase.

Music Row Penthouse, Nashville

Swift entered the property market in 2009 when she bought a 3,240-square-foot penthouse in Nashville's luxury Adelicia building.

The industrial-style apartment features floor-to-ceiling windows and open living spaces, with interiors reportedly designed by Swift herself, according to Elle Decor.

Greek Revival Estate, Nashville

Two years later, Swift purchased the historic Northumberland Estate in Nashville for around $2.5 million.

The Greek Revival-style property includes a 5,600-square-foot main residence and a 2,000-square-foot guest house. Its interiors feature vaulted ceilings, marble fireplaces and herringbone flooring.

The estate also allowed Swift to remain close to Nashville, the city where her music career began.

Beverly Hills Midcentury Modern Home

In 2012, Swift expanded her property portfolio to California with the purchase of a midcentury modern ranch-style home in Beverly Hills.

The four-bedroom property featured exposed white-beam ceilings, floor-to-ceiling glass windows and a climate-controlled wine cellar with space for nearly 1,000 bottles.

Swift sold the home in 2018 for $2.65 million, reportedly making a profit despite accepting less than the asking price, according to Elle Decor.

Beverly Hills Estate

In 2015, Swift purchased one of her most prominent properties — the historic Samuel Goldwyn Estate in Beverly Hills.

Built in 1934 for legendary Hollywood producer Samuel Goldwyn, the nearly 11,000-square-foot mansion underwent restoration during Swift's ownership and was later designated a historic landmark, helping preserve its architectural significance.

Hilltop seaside estate, Rhode Island

Among Swift's best-known properties is her sprawling Rhode Island mansion overlooking the Atlantic Ocean.

The approximately 12,000-square-foot estate sits on one of the highest points in the area and became famous for Swift's star-studded Fourth of July parties.

The historic mansion was once owned by socialite Rebekah Harkness, whose life later inspired Swift's song The Last Great American Dynasty.

Tribeca penthouses, New York

Swift's biggest expansion into New York real estate began in 2014, when she purchased two adjoining penthouses at 155 Franklin Street in Tribeca for a combined price of nearly $20 million.

The apartments, previously owned by The Lord of the Rings director Peter Jackson, were combined into a sprawling duplex featuring 10 bedrooms, 10 bathrooms, a billiards room and a dramatic central staircase.

The property made headlines again last year after singer Gracie Abrams revealed that a candle accidentally caused a small fire during a late-night gathering.

Tribeca townhouse

Swift continued expanding her Tribeca holdings in 2017 by purchasing the century-old townhouse next to her penthouse.

Built in 1915 and redesigned by architect Leopoldo Rosati, the property includes a private gym, home theatre, guest suite and rooftop terrace.

Tribeca condo expansion

In 2018, Swift further expanded her holdings at 155 Franklin Street by purchasing another 3,500-square-foot apartment for approximately $9.75 million.

The acquisition added significantly to her property portfolio in the building, which has become one of the centrepieces of her New York real estate holdings.

Cornelia Street home

Between 2016 and 2017, while renovations were underway at her Tribeca residence, Swift rented a historic townhouse on Cornelia Street in Manhattan's West Village.

The property later became closely associated with her song Cornelia Street.

The elegant townhouse features four bedrooms, seven bathrooms, soaring ceilings, antique Parisian brickwork, crystal chandeliers and a large indoor swimming pool.

A real estate portfolio worth over $100 million

Over the past decade and a half, Swift has assembled one of the most extensive celebrity property portfolios in the US.

Her holdings span historic estates, beachfront mansions, New York penthouses and luxury homes in Nashville and California, with each property marking a different chapter in her journey from teenage country singer to global pop superstar.

While music remains at the heart of Swift's career, her carefully assembled collection of luxury properties has also made her one of the most prominent celebrity real estate investors in the US.
