While she couldn’t always keep Trump from going off-script, she minimized damaging leaks, developed a successful strategy to attract Latino and Black voters, and ultimately helped deliver a decisive win.

Wiles began her political career with Ronald Reagan’s 1980 presidential campaign and worked with moderate Republicans over the years. She served alongside Republican Representatives Jack Kemp, a free trade supporter, and Tillie Fowler, known for moderate views on issues like gun control. Wiles also managed former Utah Governor Jon Huntsman Jr.'s 2012 presidential campaign, where Huntsman was the most moderate Republican candidate and later criticized Trump after the January 6th Capitol attack.

In her later career, Wiles worked with more combative Republican figures, including Trump allies like Senator Rick Scott. She also played a central role in Ron DeSantis’ successful 2018 Florida gubernatorial campaign but was dismissed by him after he took office. When DeSantis ran against Trump in the Republican primary, Wiles led an aggressive and effective strategy highlighting DeSantis’ perceived weaknesses.

Known for her reserved and enigmatic style, Wiles seldom appears in televised interviews or public speaking events, contrasting with her outspoken colleague, Chris LaCivita. Trump even nicknamed her the "ice maiden" during his victory speech, acknowledging her disciplined and, at times, ruthless approach to campaign management.

Wiles is the daughter of Pat Summerall, the former NFL player and celebrated sportscaster. Summerall, who spent a decade in the NFL and announced 16 Super Bowls, passed away in 2013.
