Starship to depart for Mars end of next year, Musk says

Elon Musk announced that SpaceX's Starship is set to launch for Mars by late 2024, carrying the Tesla humanoid bot, Optimus. Successful landings could potentially enable human missions by 2029, though 2031 is seen as a more realistic target.

SpaceX founder Elon Musk said on Friday that Starship will depart for Mars at the end of next year, carrying Tesla humanoid bot Optimus.

If those landings go well, then human landings may start as soon as 2029, although 2031 is more likely, Musk added in post on X.
