In a new trailer released today, Nintendo announced the first-ever Splatoon™ spinoff game, Splatoon Raiders, coming exclusively on the Nintendo Switch™ 2 system. In the role of a mechanic, players will go on an adventure in the mysterious Spirhalite Islands alongside the splat-tacular Deep Cut trio.

Splatoon Raiders coming to Nintendo Switch 2
Nintendon lifted the lid on Splatoon Raiders in a surprise announcement today in a first-ever standalone spinoff from its hugely popular Splatoon series. The new title is set to launch exclusively on the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2 console, promising an adventurous twist to the familiar ink-based gameplay. Departing from the typical turf wars, Splatoon Raiders places players in the role of a mechanic, journeying through the enigmatic Spirhalite Islands. Accompanied by the fan-favourite Deep Cut trio—Shiver, Frye and Big Man—players will unravel new mysteries in what appears to be a more narrative-driven experience than previous entries.

Further, with this new update Splatoon 3 players on Nintendo Switch 2 can enjoy more detailed visuals and a smoother appearance in locations like Splatsville and the Grand Festival Grounds. Today’s trailer also confirmed that Splatoon 3 players will be able to play together across both Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2.
The announcements come just a few days after the launch of the Switch 2 itself, which was released on June 5th alongside the open-world racer Mario Kart World. Yesterday Nintendo also used its app to confirm that the live-action Legend of Zelda movie had been delayed a few weeks.
