Reddit hit by outage as users flag app, website issues on Downdetector

Reports of problems accessing Reddit surged to more than 3,100 on Monday, according to outage-tracking website Downdetector, indicating a widespread disruption affecting users of the social media platform.

Downdetector showed 3,162 reports of issues with Reddit at 7:23 p.m., compared with a baseline of 11 reports, marking a sharp spike in user complaints.

According to the outage-tracking website, 73% of reported problems were related to the Reddit app, while 11% involved server connections and 10% were linked to the website.


The reports remained near normal levels for most of the day before rising sharply in the evening, Downdetector data showed.

Downdetector tracks outages by aggregating user-submitted reports and other data sources.
