How to play Powerball

A Powerball ticket costs $2. Players choose five white-ball numbers from 1 to 69 and one red Powerball number from 1 to 26. A Quick Pick option is also available, allowing the lottery system to generate numbers randomly.

The odds of winning the jackpot are 1 in 292 million. Prizes range from $4 for matching the Powerball to $1 million for matching all five white balls, except in California. Matching all six numbers wins the jackpot.

Players can add Power Play for an additional $1, which can increase eligible non-jackpot prizes by up to five times. A 10x Power Play option is available when the jackpot is below $150 million.
