Pluribus stars Rhea Seehorn, reuniting with Gilligan after her Emmy-nominated role as Kim Wexler in Better Call Saul. She plays Grace, described as the most miserable person on Earth, who must save the world from an unusual threat: happiness itself. The ensemble cast also features Karolina Wydra (Sneaky Pete), Carlos-Manuel Vesga (The Hijacking of Flight 601), Miriam Shor (American Fiction), and Samba Schutte (Our Flag Means Death).
The series is billed as a "genre-bending original," blending dark humor with existential sci-fi. While previous Gilligan projects explored crime and moral dilemmas, Pluribus takes a distinctly offbeat approach—less meth labs, more apocalyptic irony. Early trailers hint at a world overtaken by a mysterious happiness epidemic, with Grace seemingly immune, setting her on a path to unravel the mystery and save humanity.
Gilligan not only created and showruns the series but also serves as an executive producer alongside long-time collaborators Gordon Smith, Alison Tatlock, Diane Mercer, Allyce Ozarski, and Jeff Frost. Trina Siopy and Jenn Carroll act as co-executive producers, with Sony Pictures Television backing the project.
Apple TV+ has already committed to a two-season order for Pluribus, underscoring confidence in Gilligan’s storytelling. The series aligns with Apple’s strategy of prestige programming, following in the footsteps of award-winning hits like Ted Lasso and CODA. Since its 2019 launch, Apple TV+ has emphasized creator-led projects, amassing over 600 wins and nearly 3,000 nominations across major award shows.
Pluribus premieres November 7, 2025, exclusively on Apple TV+, with new episodes streaming every Friday.
