A 4.2-magnitude earthquake struck Pakistan at 4:00 PM on Monday, with the epicenter at 36.60°N, 72.89°E and a depth of 10 km, according to the National Center for Seismology. No damage or casualties have been reported.

An earthquake with a magnitude of 4.2 on the Richter Scale hit Pakistan at 4:00 pm on Monday, according to National Center for Seismology. No loss of life or property has been reported so far.

The epicenter was located at latitude 36.60°N and longitude 72.89°E, at a depth of 10 kilometers., as per NCS.

Shallow earthquakes can be more dangerous than deeper ones due to their greater energy release closer to the Earth's surface, causing stronger ground shaking.


Pakistan is frequently hit by earthquakes of varying intensity. The deadliest hit the nation in 2005, killing more than 74,000 people.
