Trump has been a vocal critic against the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) which has since announced plans to scale back or eliminate 31 environmental regulations

Hundreds of protests, marches, rallies and cleanup events are set to take place across the US in the run-up to Earth Day on Tuesday. The protests come as environmental and climate groups step up resistance to the Trump administration’s authoritarianism and its “war on the planet.”

Here are ten points you need to know about anti-Trump protests:

-The large scale demonstrations are being held under the banner "All out on Earth Day" and is a way to voice the protestors’ stance against the Trump administration’s authoritarianism and their constant/frequent rollbacks on environmental protections.

-The protests come almost two weeks after the "Hands Off" mobilization brought millions of US citizens on the streets. National and grassroots organizers have teamed up pro-democracy groups for “All Out on Earth Day”—a wave of actions to demand the right to live free, healthy lives.

-Environmental groups and pro-democracy protestors have united to call out Trump who has made deportations and rolling back on environmental protections two of his key priorities. Trump and Elon Musk are rapidly cutting back environmental protections by closing agencies and laying off staff responsible for climate and conservation.

Protesters have accused Donald Trump of collaborating with his billionaire mega-donor Elon Musk to sideline the planet at the expense of earning profits.

Climate change is the leading cause of global displacement, these are connected issues,” Renata Pumarol, the deputy director of the Climate Organizing Hub, which coordinated the New York march, told The Guardian.

-Additionally, regulations on fossil fuels and heavily polluting industries were rolled back to increase the output of conventional energy sources, aligning with Trump's "Make America Great Again" agenda.
