California fire dog reunion
A man in California, who believed he had lost everything to the Pacific Palisades wildfire, experienced an emotional reunion with his missing dog after days of uncertainty. Casey Colvin, overwhelmed with joy, found his dog Oreo alive on Sunday, five days after the evacuation.

Dog discovered among rubble of neighbor’s home

Colvin’s search for Oreo ended when the dog was found surviving among the remains of a neighbor’s burned property. A video captured the heartfelt moment when Colvin called to Oreo through a gate. The dog trotted toward him, slipping under the barrier before being scooped into Colvin’s arms.

“Oh, honey, you’re alive!” Colvin exclaimed before running into the street in jubilation, shouting “Woo!” as he spun in circles. His gratitude was evident as he turned to the camera, thanking those who helped, including Liz Kreutz, who assisted in the search.

Firefighter rescue and community support
The ordeal began when Colvin was at work during the evacuation orders on Tuesday. He spent hours in traffic trying to return home to rescue his pets, only to find that access to his property was restricted. A firefighter, noticing Colvin’s distress, volunteered to enter the home and managed to save one of his dogs, Tika Tika Tika. However, Oreo was missing, and Colvin’s home was later destroyed by the fire.

Liz Kreutz, a community member, played a pivotal role in the reunion. She shared Colvin’s story on social media, rallying support to locate Oreo. Her efforts led someone to track down the dog and inform Colvin of Oreo’s whereabouts.
