Netflix unveils ‘Devil May Cry’ anime trailer: Release date, cast & key details

Netflix has dropped the official trailer for its upcoming Devil May Cry anime adaptation, confirming an April 3, 2025 release. The series, based on Hideki Kamiya’s iconic Capcom video game, is helmed by Adi Shankar (Netflix’s Castlevania), with Studio Mir (The Witcher: Nightmare of the Wolf) leading animation production.

Plot & Characters

The story follows Dante, an orphaned demon hunter on a relentless quest to avenge his mother’s death while battling demonic forces. Unbeknownst to him, he holds the fate of both human and demon realms in his hands. The anime will primarily focus on Dante, Virgil, and Lady, drawing inspiration from the game’s rich lore.

Voice Cast
The cast features several renowned voice actors including Johnny Yong Bosch who has voiced for the Dante character. Bosch had earlier voiced in popular animes including Bleach and Demon Slayer.


Scout Taylor-Compton, who had voiced in Halloween and Charmed will feature as Mary.

Other cast include Hoon Lee (Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles) as White Rabbit, Kevin Conroy (Batman: The Animated Series) as VP Baines, and Chris Coppola (Friday the 13th) as Enzo.
