Mysterious sphere crashes in Indiana suburb during storm

A mysterious, futuristic-looking sphere fell from the sky during a storm in Indiana, according to a Men’s Journal report. Photos of the strange object were first captured by Fox Weather, sparking intrigue and speculation online.

The metallic sphere, which looked straight out of a science fiction movie, was discovered on June 19, 2025, in a quiet residential neighborhood—just hours after a severe thunderstorm swept through the area. The storm, which hit on June 18, brought wind gusts of up to 65 miles per hour and prompted a Severe Thunderstorm Warning across the region.

The next morning, residents were stunned to find the object—about the size of a small garden shed—resting neatly by the curb. Its sudden appearance led many to wonder whether it had fallen from space. But the reality turned out to be less otherworldly.


Local media later identified the object as a radome—a dome-shaped, protective cover for antennae. The radome had come from V2X, a nearby technology manufacturing company. According to the report, the storm's powerful winds had lifted the radome from the company’s facility and carried it into the suburb, where it eventually landed without causing damage or injuries.

“These radomes are built to be lightweight and aerodynamic, so it’s not too surprising one could be carried by the wind,” said Andrew Blush, site executive at V2X. “We’re just thankful no one was hurt.”

Though its sci-fi appearance briefly fueled wild theories, V2X officials confirmed the sphere was not an alien object or spacecraft.
