Marvel’s Wolverine PS5 Limited Edition console announced: Price, release date, design and accessories

PlayStation has announced a limited-edition Marvel’s Wolverine PS5 console bundle and a range of accessories featuring a yellow design inspired by Wolverine’s classic suit. The products will be released on September 15, 2026, alongside Insomniac Games’ Marvel’s Wolverine.

The Marvel’s Wolverine Limited Edition PS5 Digital Edition Bundle is priced at $649.99 in the US. It includes a PS5 Digital Edition console with a Wolverine-themed design and a DualSense wireless controller featuring a claw-slash pattern. The upper portion of the console features an image of Wolverine roaring.

Sony is also offering Wolverine-themed accessories for existing consoles. The PlayStation 5 Console Covers – Battle Yellow Limited Edition are priced at $74.99 in the US and will be compatible with PS5 Slim models, including consoles with disc drives.


PS5 Pro owners will have two cover options: the Marvel’s Wolverine Battle Yellow Limited Edition and the Marvel’s Wolverine Adamantium Limited Edition. Both are priced at $74.99 in the US. The Adamantium version features a silvery white finish inspired by the fictional metal associated with Wolverine.

The accessories lineup also includes two limited-edition DualSense controllers. The Marvel’s Wolverine Battle Yellow Limited Edition controller costs $84.99 in the US, while the Marvel’s Wolverine Adamantium Limited Edition controller is also priced at $84.99.

Prices vary by region. The PS5 Digital Edition – Marvel’s Wolverine Battle Yellow Limited Edition Bundle is priced at £569.99 in the UK, €649.99 in the Eurozone and ¥96,980 in Japan. The Battle Yellow DualSense controller costs £74.99, €84.99 and ¥12,480, respectively. The Battle Yellow PS5 Console Covers are priced at £64.99, €74.99 and ¥9,980.

The PS5 Pro Battle Yellow and Adamantium console covers are priced at £64.99 and €74.99, while the Adamantium DualSense controller costs £74.99 and €84.99 in those markets.

The limited-edition console and accessories will be available through the PlayStation Direct website and select retailers, subject to availability.

The announcement comes amid renewed discussion among PlayStation fans about the future of physical game media. Some fans have criticized Sony’s decision to discontinue physical discs for new PS5 games starting in January 2028. Insomniac Games has confirmed that Marvel’s Wolverine will ship with a physical disc.

The inclusion of a disc with the game has reassured some players who prefer physical media. However, the fact that the limited-edition Wolverine PS5 is a Digital Edition has prompted further discussion among fans.

The Marvel’s Wolverine-themed hardware uses its yellow-and-black-inspired styling to reference Logan’s iconic costume, while the claw-slash details on the console and controller reinforce the character’s visual identity. For existing PS5 and PS5 Pro owners, the console covers offer a way to adopt the design without purchasing a new console.
