Marvel Animation has released the first official look at Marvel Zombies, a four-part animated horror series debuting on Disney+ on September 24, 2025. The spinoff, rated TV-MA, takes inspiration from the popular What If…? episode, pushing the zombie apocalypse concept deeper into the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

The series imagines a world where Earth’s mightiest heroes fall victim to a zombie plague, forcing a desperate band of survivors to fight their way across a dystopian landscape in search of a cure. The trailer reveals gruesome battles against zombified versions of beloved MCU characters, including Captain America, Scarlet Witch, and Namor, while teasing the arrival of Blade, voiced by Todd Williams, in his first full Marvel Studios project.

Fan-favorite stars are reprising their roles in animated form, including Elizabeth Olsen (Scarlet Witch), Paul Rudd (Ant-Man), Florence Pugh (Yelena Belova), David Harbour (Red Guardian), Tessa Thompson (Valkyrie), Simu Liu (Shang-Chi), Awkwafina (Katy), Hailee Steinfeld (Kate Bishop), Wyatt Russell (U.S. Agent), Randall Park (Jimmy Woo), Iman Vellani (Ms. Marvel), and Dominique Thorne (Ironheart). Returning faces from What If…? such as Spider-Man, Black Panther, and even Ant-Man’s disembodied head also make an appearance.

Set to the heavy beats of Babymetal and Poppy’s 2025 track “from me to u,” the trailer emphasizes brutal action sequences, blood-soaked showdowns, and blink-and-you’ll-miss-it cameos from undead versions of Hawkeye, Abomination, and more.

Marvel Zombies is directed by Bryan Andrews and co-created with Zeb Wells. Kevin Feige, Louis D’Esposito, Brad Winderbaum, Dana Vasquez-Eberhardt, Bryan Andrews, and Wells serve as executive producers, with Danielle Costa and Carrie Wassenaar producing.

While the series is not canon to the MCU, it promises to be one of the franchise’s boldest and darkest animated projects yet, offering fans a gory survival thriller unlike anything seen before in Marvel storytelling.
