WWE’s highly anticipated Clash in Paris event, scheduled for August 31, is already drawing attention—not only for its confirmed match card but also for the absence of several big names. With just five matches officially announced, fans are voicing concerns that the lineup feels underwhelming.

The biggest talking point has been John Cena’s showdown with Logan Paul, which many feel is a mismatch. A section of the WWE Universe had hoped for a blockbuster bout against Brock Lesnar instead. Adding to the disappointment, multiple top-tier wrestlers are unlikely to appear at the Paris spectacle.

Superstars Likely to Miss the Event

  • Stephanie Vaquer: Initially set to face Naomi for the WWE Women’s Championship, her match was scrapped after Naomi revealed her pregnancy and relinquished the title. With that cancellation, Vaquer is expected to sit out the event.

  • Dominik Mysterio & AJ Styles: Both are booked for a match against each other on Monday Night RAW at the same Paris La Défense Arena. With their commitments tied to RAW, their participation in Clash in Paris seems highly improbable.

  • Randy Orton: Last seen in action at SummerSlam 2025, Orton did appear at WWE’s Dublin SmackDown show, but insiders suggest he won’t be competing in Paris.

  • Rhea Ripley & IYO SKY: Ripley recently defeated Roxanne Perez on RAW but reportedly tweaked her knee during the match. While rumors suggest it’s part of the storyline, her absence from Clash in Paris is likely. Iyo Sky’s appearance that same night makes it doubtful she’ll be added to the card either.

  • Brock Lesnar: The Beast Incarnate returned at SummerSlam to attack Cena, fueling speculation of a rematch down the line. However, according to General Manager Nick Aldis, Lesnar may hold off until WWE’s September 20 event, possibly skipping Paris to make his grand return at Wrestlepalooza.

While the confirmed matches promise entertainment, fans hoping for surprise appearances may have to wait until later WWE events.
