Lindsay Lohan’s father, Michael Lohan, arrested in Texas for allegedly assaulting estranged wife Kate Major

Michael Lohan, father of actress Lindsay Lohan, has been arrested in Texas for allegedly assaulting his estranged wife, Kate Major. The 64-year-old was taken into custody on Saturday and charged with "continuous violence against the family." He remains in jail on a $30,000 bond and is due in court on Monday.

Medical Visit Sparks Police Action

The arrest followed an incident on 21 February when Major, 42, spotted Lohan outside a medical facility while attending a mammogram appointment. Concerned that he was following her, she alerted authorities.

According to the Harris County Sheriff’s Office, Major told deputies that Lohan had "flipped her out of a chair at their residence a few days earlier." A female officer observed visible bruises on her body, which led to Lohan’s arrest at his home without incident.

History of a Volatile Relationship

Lohan and Major’s relationship has been turbulent for years. The pair married in 2014 after meeting when Major was an entertainment journalist covering Lindsay Lohan. Their relationship soon became public for all the wrong reasons.

In 2015, social services intervened after a video surfaced of the couple engaged in a heated argument in front of their young sons. The children, Landon and Logan, were later placed in the custody of Lohan’s mother.

Their legal battles did not end there. In 2018, Major filed for divorce, citing an "irretrievably broken" marriage. However, she withdrew the petition in 2019.

Past Run-Ins with the Law

This is not the first time either has faced legal trouble. In 2020, Lohan was arrested in New York for allegedly becoming "verbally and physically abusive" towards Major. That same year, she was arrested for driving while intoxicated. Their history of domestic disputes also includes a 2015 incident where Major was arrested for allegedly attacking Lohan in a drunken altercation. During that dispute, Lohan accused her of infidelity, while she claimed he grabbed her by the throat. No evidence was found to support her allegations.

Major Speaks Out

Following Lohan’s latest arrest, Major issued a statement to Fox News Digital, saying, "I’m praying for privacy for the sake of my kids and myself and pray justice is finally served."

Lohan’s representatives have yet to comment on the allegations. His upcoming court hearing will determine the next steps in the case.
