Lilo & Stitch Live-Action Movie: Trailer released, here's everything you need to know about the film

Disney has released the debut trailer for their live-action rendition of "Lilo & Stitch". Initially planned for Disney+, the project transitioned to a theatrical release and is now slated to be released in theaters on May 23, 2025.

The new live action movie is coming after the released of the first animated TV series almost two decades back. The original "Lilo & Stitch" is still quite popular for over twenty years, generating various sequels and a successful animated TV series.

What to expect

The 2.24 minute trailer of Disney's Lilo & Stitch encompasses thrilling sequences, quests, emotional moments, devastation and the endearing essence of its animated predecessor. 'Ohana means family. Family means nobody gets left behind or forgotten,' states the official announcement, echoing the film's signature phrase.


The preview introduces the commander pronouncing Stitch as an "apprehended a dangerous experiment", establishing the forthcoming mayhem. Fresh talent Maia Kealoha portrays Lilo, the vivacious Hawaiian youngster who develops a bond with a destructively programmed alien.

Under Dean Fleischer Camp's direction, this adaptation refreshes the cherished 2002 animated film, originally crafted by Chris Sanders and Dean DeBlois. The stellar cast includes Zach Galifianakis, Billy Magnussen, Sydney Agudong, Kaipo Dudoit, Tia Carrere, Courtney B. Vance, Amy Hill, Jason Scott Lee, and Hannah Waddingham.

This adaptation joins numerous upcoming reboots, including anticipated releases like Snow White and How To Train Your Dragon scheduled for the forthcoming months.
