Karoline Leavitt book: Former Trump press secretary reportedly seeking publisher

Former White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt is reportedly seeking a publisher for a book, according to Page Six.

It is not known what the book would be about. However, given Leavitt’s role in the Trump administration, speculation could center on whether it would offer an insider’s account of her time in the White House. Leavitt has not publicly commented on the reported book plans.

The report comes amid a period of political uncertainty for President Donald Trump, whose approval ratings have declined, with CNN reporting that his numbers are lower than during his first term.


Leavitt, the youngest person to serve as a White House press secretary, stepped down from the position in August this year. She is a longtime Trump ally, having worked in his press office during his first presidency, which ended in 2021, before serving as a spokesperson for his 2024 presidential campaign.

In May, Leavitt announced the birth of her second child, a daughter named Viviana. Her announcement came after she had delayed her maternity leave following an alleged assassination attempt involving a gunman who reportedly tried to storm the White House Correspondents’ Dinner.

During her tenure as press secretary, Leavitt revived regular White House briefings, which had become less frequent during Trump’s first term. At the same time, her tenure marked significant changes in the administration’s relationship with the news media.

In February 2025, Leavitt announced that the White House, rather than an independent association of correspondents, would determine which reporters could cover Trump in close-access settings, including the Oval Office and Air Force One.

She also facilitated press credentials for right-wing and pro-Trump media outlets, increasing their presence in White House briefings alongside traditional news organizations.

Leavitt was raised in New Hampshire, where her family ran an ice cream shop. In 2017, while attending college, she wrote to her university newspaper to object to a professor’s criticism of Trump.

Following Trump’s defeat in the 2020 presidential election, Leavitt unsuccessfully ran for Congress in New Hampshire in 2022. Her campaign was strongly aligned with Trump and supported gun ownership rights.

She later earned Trump's praise for her television appearances during his 2024 presidential campaign.

Leavitt has also indicated an intention to pursue a political career. She previously said that “our country is facing an existential threat from an increasingly extremist Democrat Party that seeks to destroy everything great about America.”
