Jennifer Lopez caught in Jay-Z rape scandal? Photos of her, Sean Diddy emerge from same night when assault happened

Hollywood star Jennifer Lopez has been allegedly linked to the legal controversy involving Sean 'Diddy' Combs and Jay-Z, who are accused of raping a 13-year-old girl at an after party following the 2000 MTV Video Music Awards in New York, US. Photos showing Jennifer Lopez in a confrontation with Combs on the same night have brought attention back to the events surrounding that evening. Jennifer Lopez has not been named in the lawsuit though.

The amended lawsuit, filed on Sunday, names Jay-Z (Shawn Carter) as one of the defendants. A woman who previously sued Sean “Diddy” Combs, alleging she was raped at an awards show after-party in 2000 when she was 13 years old, amended the lawsuit Sunday to include a new allegation that Jay-Z was also at the party and participated in the sexual assault.

Jay-Z, whose real name is Shawn Carter, said the rape allegation made against him is part of an extortion attempt. The 24-time Grammy Award winner called the allegations “idiotic” and “heinous in nature” in a statement released by Roc Nation, one of his companies. His lawyer also argued Monday that his accuser, who is only identified as Jane Doe, should have to reveal her identity, or have her lawsuit dismissed outright.

Jennifer Lopez in trouble?

Jennifer Lopez, Sean Diddy's ex-girlfriend, can be seen in photos, first published on Daily Mail, arguing with Combs at the afterparty. While there is no suggestion that Lopez is the unnamed third celebrity in the lawsuit, the resurfacing of these photos has drawn renewed attention to her past relationship with Combs.


The recently unearthed photos, obtained by DailyMail.com, were taken hours before the alleged rape and in a different location to where it is said to have happened. Jennifer Lopez dated Combs from 1999 to 2001 in a relationship which continues to cast a long shadow over the star to this day.

When Diddy was in a relationship with Jennifer Lopez, he had an infatuation with Kim Porter, reports suggest. Kim Porter was the mother of Sean Diddy Combs' three children- on Christian, and twin daughters Jessie and D'lila. She passed away in 2018.

The rapper himself admitted the same in an earlier interview, “I got caught up in the hype [But] I was still in love with Kim,” Diddy said.

What lawsuit against Jay-Z claims?

According to the lawsuit, 'Defendant Sean Combs…along with his lifetime friend and collaborator Shawn Carter, drugged and raped a thirteen-year-old at an afterparty following 2000 Video Music Awards.' 'Another celebrity stood by and watched as Combs and Carter took turns assaulting the minor.'

That third celebrity has not been named, but is identified as a female whom the victim immediately recognized.

Jay-Z said a letter his lawyer received from woman's lawyer, Tony Buzbee appeared to seek a settlement but had the “opposite effect." “It made me want to expose you for the fraud you are in a VERY public fashion,” his statement read. “So no, I will not give you ONE RED PENNY!!”

The litigation is part of a wave of sexual assault lawsuits levied against Combs as the hip-hop mogul remains in custody in New York awaiting trial on federal sex trafficking charges.

The lawsuit, originally filed in October, claims that the victim was drugged, alone, and sexually assaulted by both Combs and Jay-Z. It also claims the third celebrity stood by and watched the events unfold. Lopez has yet to publicly comment on the lawsuit or the resurfaced images.
