President Donald Trump speaks about the Iran war
US President Donald Trump on Friday claimed that Iran has agreed to never close the Strait of Hormuz, a key demand of American negotiators on the ceasefire table.

"Iran has agreed to never close the Strait of Hormuz again. It will no longer be used as a weapon against the world," Trump said in a post on Truth Social.

His remarks come soon after Iran's foreign minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi declared the crucial waterway completely open "for the remaining period of the ceasefire."

"In line with the ceasefire in Lebanon, the passage for all commercial vessels through the Strait of Hormuz is declared completely open for the remaining period of the ceasefire, on the coordinated route as already announced by the Ports and Maritime Organisation of the Islamic Rep. of Iran," Araghchi said in a post on X.

The US president also thanked Pakistan's Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Field Marshal Asim Munir for mediating the ceasefire negotiations between Washington and Tehran, calling them "fantastic people."

US-Iran deal over enriched uranium

In a series of posts on Truth Social, Trump claimed that Iran has agreed to nearly all the conditions that earlier led to the failure of ceasefire negotiations between the two nations, including Tehran's agreement to hand over enriched uranium

“The U.S.A. will get all Nuclear Dust,' created by our great B2 Bombers - No money will exchange hands in any way, shape, or form,” he said in a post.

For context, 'nuclear dust' is a shorthand for highly-enriched uranium often used by Trump. The mineral is believed to be buried under nuclear sites that the US bombed during last year's 12-day war between Israel and Iran.

The Iranian government has not released any statement about the same.

Earlier on Thursday, Trump asserted that Iran has “agreed to give us back the nuclear dust”.
