Taking to Twitter (now X), Musk wrote, "I’m sorry, but I just can’t stand it anymore. This massive, outrageous, pork-filled Congressional spending bill is a disgusting abomination. Shame on those who voted for it: you know you did wrong. You know it."
"It will massively increase the already gigantic budget deficit to $2.5 trillion (!!!) and burden America citizens with crushingly unsustainable debt," he added.
In another post, Musk shared statistics of USA's budget defict, saying, "Congress is making America bankrupt."
This is not the first time Musk is speaking against the bill.
The Department of Government Efficiency, or DOGE, was Musk’s brainchild—a bold attempt to root out waste, fraud, and redundancy across federal programmes. Launched with fanfare earlier this year, it led to high-profile cuts, including the closure of USAID offices and reductions in foreign assistance.
Meanwhile, the White House defended US President Donald Trump's huge tax cuts and spending mega-bill Tuesday after billionaire former aide Elon Musk blasted it as a "disgusting abomination."
"The president already knows where Elon Musk stood on this bill, it doesn't change his opinion. This is one big, beautiful bill, and he's sticking to it," Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt told reporters.
The 'One, Big, Beautiful Bill Act' aims to reshape American policy by addressing taxes, federal spending, and border security.
The bill also proposes increasing the standard deduction and child tax credit.
Simultaneously, it targets substantial federal spending cuts, particularly to Medicaid, through stricter eligibility and work requirements.
A significant portion of the bill focuses on border security. Proposals include funding wall construction, increasing border patrol personnel, and investing in advanced technology.
Changes to asylum policies and increased fees for asylum seekers are also included.
The bill's controversial elements, like the potential 5% remittance tax and alterations to existing tax deductions, are generating significant opposition.
Even within the Republican party, disagreements persist over spending cuts and Medicaid work requirements.
Non-partisan analyses suggest the bill could substantially increase the national debt.
