How wife Emily Blunt plans to celebrate actor John Krasinski being named People's Sexiest Man Alive for 2024

Actor Emily Blunt has special plans to celebrate as her husband John Krasinski named People magazine's Sexiest Man Alive for 2024. The magazine announced the actor-writer-director as its pick Tuesday night during "The Late Show with Stephen Colbert".

Krasinski starred in "The Office" before launching the "Quiet Place" franchise and leading the action series "Jack Ryan". He joked in an interview with the magazine that he's hoping his wife, fellow actor Emily Blunt, makes good on a promise to plaster the cover as wallpaper at their home.

He takes the mantle from last year's honouree, Patrick Dempsey.


Krasinski, 45, told People that his immediate reaction to the honour was "just immediate blackout, actually. Zero thoughts." He added that he thought he might be getting pranked.

John Krasinski first rose to fame as the floppy-haired, awkward Jim Halpert on the US version of *The Office*, and has since reinvented himself as a clean-cut, action-packed leading man. He stars as Jack Ryan in Amazon's hit series, taking on the role previously played by Alec Baldwin, Harrison Ford, and Ben Affleck in the films based on Tom Clancy's novels.

Beyond acting, Krasinski has expanded his creative reach. He co-wrote, directed, and starred in *A Quiet Place*, a horror-thriller that became a three-film franchise. He also created the popular pandemic-era web series *Some Good News*, which captured hearts with its feel-good content.

Earlier this year, Krasinski debuted his sixth directorial project, *IF*, a film exploring the world of imaginary friends, which also stars his wife, Emily Blunt.

The couple shares two daughters and continues to balance their careers and family life. In an interview with *People* magazine, Krasinski humorously predicted that his recent recognition as *Sexiest Man Alive* would likely mean more work around the house. "I think it's going to make me do more household chores," he joked.

Now in its 40th year, the *Sexiest Man Alive* title has been awarded to icons like Mel Gibson (the first recipient), Brad Pitt, George Clooney, John F. Kennedy Jr., David Beckham, Michael B. Jordan, John Legend, Dwayne Johnson, Paul Rudd, and Pierce Brosnan.
