Jessie Cave, widely recognized for her role as Lavender Brown in the Harry Potter film series, says she was recently excluded from a fan convention because she has an OnlyFans account.

Cave revealed the incident in a September post on her Substack, explaining that event organizers declined to book her, citing the convention’s “family-friendly” nature and associating OnlyFans with explicit content.

“I found out that I didn’t get booked for a Harry Potter convention recently, as I’m now doing OnlyFans,” Cave wrote. “They explained it was because it’s a ‘family show and OnlyFans is affiliated with porn.’ This was baffling to me, as many actors who do conventions have appeared in projects with sex scenes or nudity. I’m just playing with my hair!”

The 38-year-old actress clarified earlier this year that her OnlyFans content is entirely non-explicit, focusing solely on her hair. She admitted she initially felt “a sense of shame” about joining the platform, saying it stemmed from frustration over “having nothing to show for 18 years of work in the arts industry.”

Despite the rejection, Cave says she is not particularly upset about stepping back from the convention circuit. “There’s going to be a new cast now and it’s a different time,” she wrote, adding that after more than 15 years of attending conventions, she already has “enough photos and wizard memorabilia.”

Beyond the Wizarding World, Cave has also appeared in Great Expectations, Black Mirror, and HBO’s Industry.

Meanwhile, Potter fans have something to look forward to: HBO is developing a “faithful adaptation” of J.K. Rowling’s seven-book saga. Filming is expected to begin later this year, with the series set to debut in 2027 exclusively on HBO Max. Each book will be adapted into a full season, promising a fresh yet book-accurate take on the magical world of Hogwarts.
