GTA 6 Leak: Gameplay videos and map surface online ahead of Netflix showcase

Grand Theft Auto 6 (GTA 6) appears to have suffered another major leak, with two gameplay videos and what appears to be the game's full map surfacing online just days before Rockstar Games is set to unveil an extended look at the highly anticipated title.

The leaked GTA 6 footage has not been officially authenticated, but Rockstar and parent company Take-Two Interactive are reportedly issuing DMCA takedown notices against users sharing the material.

GTA 6 leaked gameplay: What the videos show

One leaked clip reportedly shows Jason, one of GTA 6's two protagonists, at a waterside property that appears identical to his safehouse shown in official Rockstar material.

Jason is seen picking up a basketball and shooting hoops. After scoring, a focus stat appears to increase, suggesting GTA 6 could include deeper RPG-style mechanics.

The second clip shows Jason driving toward an area called The Keys before crashing into a delivery truck and fighting its driver. After killing the NPC with a wrench, Jason receives a two-star wanted level.

The footage also appears to show a possible honor or karma system, similar to the morality mechanics in Rockstar's Red Dead Redemption games. "Loadout" and "storage" prompts also appear, suggesting players could manage weapons and items through their vehicles.

A vehicle fuel indicator is another detail that has caught fans' attention, potentially indicating that GTA 6 could introduce vehicle refuelling.

An image reportedly showing the GTA 6 map has also appeared online. It appears to depict Leonida, Rockstar's fictional version of Florida, with a large city resembling Miami on the eastern side.

The map reportedly includes extensive rural areas, numerous islands and a southern region resembling the Florida Keys. Various markers appear across the map, including homes, vehicles and an alligator.

Who leaked GTA 6 gameplay?

The leaked material reportedly points to a group called CyberLeek, which has published a manifesto criticising Rockstar and other game publishers over what it calls anti-consumer practices.

Its complaints reportedly include digital pre-orders, allegedly "fake" single-player DLC, removal of purchased single-player content and the lack of a traditional disc in GTA 6's physical edition.

The group has also referenced Ubisoft's The Crew, which became central to the Stop Killing Games campaign after it was taken offline.

The cryptocurrency promoted alongside the leaked material has also raised concerns about a possible scam.

GTA 6 has suffered major leaks before

GTA 6 was hit by one of gaming's biggest leaks in 2022, when hackers released more than 90 videos and images from an early development build. The game's first trailer was also leaked on X in December 2023, forcing Rockstar to release it early.

Rockstar has not confirmed the latest footage is genuine.

The apparent leak comes just before GTA 6: An Extended Look, which will premiere on Netflix on August 27 before reaching other platforms.

GTA 6 is scheduled to release on November 19 for PS5 and Xbox Series X/S,starting at $79.99.
