First date turns deadly: Milwaukee man found guilty of brutally murdering 19-year-old woman

A jury on Friday found a Milwaukee man, Maxwell Anderson, guilty of murdering and dismembering 19-year-old college student Sade Robinson during their first date.

Anderson was charged in April 2024 with first-degree intentional homicide, mutilating a corpse, arson, and concealing a corpse in connection to Robinson’s death. He was convicted on all four counts.

Investigators believe Anderson killed Robinson on April 1, 2024, then dismembered her and scattered her remains throughout Milwaukee County. He is also suspected of setting her car on fire in an attempt to destroy evidence.


During the eight-day trial, Anderson’s defense attorney, Tony Cotton, claimed there was no DNA evidence directly linking his client to the crime. Cotton has not responded to requests for comment following the verdict.

Anderson is scheduled to be sentenced on August 15 and faces a mandatory life term in prison.
