Then, in a matter of moments, her life was cut short in a random stabbing in New York City’s Times Square.

Piacenti, a 32-year-old Bank of America vice president from Chester, New Jersey, was fatally stabbed Monday afternoon. She had recently returned to work following maternity leave. She joined Bank of America in 2025 and was working as a vice president in the business selection and conflicts division. Her death was confirmed by Bank of America, which described her as a valued colleague.

“We are shocked and deeply saddened by the tragic loss of our colleague,” the bank said. “She was a valued teammate who will be greatly missed. Our hearts go out to her family and all of her loved ones.”

Piacenti was one of two people stabbed during a random attack in Times Square on Monday afternoon.

Police identified the attacker as Pamela Cisneros, 49, of Queens. Authorities said the woman had stabbed another passerby before Piacenti was attacked. Officers confronted Cisneros shortly afterward, and she was fatally shot after refusing to drop the knives and advancing toward police.

Piacenti was taken to Bellevue Hospital but died from her injuries. The other victim, a 68-year-old man, was also hospitalized.

Authorities have described the attack as unprovoked and random, adding another layer of shock to the killing.
