Elon Musk’s father unleashes conspiracy chaos, claims “Obama is queer, Michelle is a man”

Errol Musk, father of billionaire entrepreneur Elon Musk, has sparked outrage by reviving a widely debunked conspiracy theory about Michelle Obama’s gender. Speaking on the ‘Wide Awake Podcast’ with Joshua Rubin, Errol claimed, “We realised Obama is a queer who is married to a man who dresses as a woman. We all learned that. It’s not common knowledge.”

The host, visibly surprised, asked, “Michelle Obama is a man?”

Errol doubled down, responding, “Of course, you don’t know that?”


He then referenced a 2014 claim made by comedian Joan Rivers, who had joked about Michelle Obama’s gender. “Joan Rivers mentioned it publicly, and she was dead two weeks later by the way. They axed her, yeah. So that’s common knowledge. You can look it up anywhere,” Errol stated.

Rivers passed away on 4 September 2014 due to brain damage following complications from surgery. Despite Errol Musk’s insinuations, no evidence links her death to her comments. The theory has been repeatedly debunked, yet it continues to circulate in far-right circles.

He went on to make even more bizarre allegations, saying, “And yeah, Michelle Obama is a man, obviously. They have pictures of her in tracksuits with her 9-inch schlong hanging down... it’s leg.”

A History of Baseless Theories

These comments are part of a broader pattern of unfounded accusations aimed at high-profile public figures. Over the years, similar theories have emerged targeting politicians and celebrities, often driven by those seeking to discredit progressive leaders. Experts have repeatedly dismissed these narratives as baseless and politically motivated.

Barack and Michelle Obama, who met in 1989 while working at a law firm, have been married since 1992. They have two daughters, Malia (26) and Sasha (23), both of whom were raised in the public eye.

Errol Musk on Elon’s Parenting

During the same interview, Errol Musk shifted the conversation to his son, Elon Musk, criticising his parenting style. When asked by Rubin if he believed Elon was a good father, Errol replied, “No, he has not been a good dad.”

He went on to discuss the death of Elon’s first child, Nevada Alexander, who passed away from sudden infant death syndrome (SIDS) at just 10 weeks old. “The baby was cared for too much by nannies and, sadly, passed away while under their watch. If Elon hears me saying this, he's going to shoot me or something. But anyway, that's what I think,” Errol said.

He claimed Elon had little hands-on involvement in raising his children. “They were too rich, too many nannies. Then he had five children with the same woman. They each had a nanny. It was really a weird situation.”

Elon Musk, who has fathered at least 11 children with different women, has admitted in past interviews that he spends limited time with them due to his demanding work schedule. However, he has also expressed a desire to be present in their lives.

A Strained Father-Son Relationship

Elon Musk’s relationship with his father has long been fraught with tension. In a 2017 interview, the Tesla CEO described Errol as "evil" and "a terrible human being." He has previously criticised his father’s personal decisions, including his relationships and family dynamics.

Errol, on the other hand, has been vocal about his own views on Elon, often downplaying his son’s achievements. In a past conversation with LBC’s Tom Swarbrick, he dismissed Elon’s influence on UK politics after the billionaire criticised British leaders. When Labour leader Sir Keir Starmer called Elon “desperate for attention,” Errol responded, “He’s just a person. The fact that he has money or something, he’s a billionaire or something to that effect... Tell him to get lost.”

Spreading Misinformation and Seeking Attention?

Errol Musk has a history of making inflammatory statements, often attracting controversy. His latest claims, particularly about the Obamas, have once again placed him at the centre of a storm. Experts urge caution in amplifying such conspiracy theories, highlighting the potential dangers of misinformation.
