Tesla CEO and US President Donald Trump's administration member Elon Musk might receive access to classified plans regarding potential conflict with China, according to reports. Musk, who leads the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), is expected to visit Department of Defence facilities on Friday, as reported by The New York Times, citing sources.

Following queries about Musk's precise function after DOGE implemented various cost-cutting measures, the latest report indicates he may gain access to confidential military strategies concerning potential Chinese conflict. "The Defense Department is excited to welcome Elon Musk to the Pentagon on Friday. He was invited by Secretary Hegseth and is just visiting," Pentagon spokesperson Sean Parnell informed CNN.

The report suggests this 'unusual access' expands his current advisory role to President Trump and his leadership in reducing expenditure and restructuring government policies. The China strategy comprises 20 to 30 slides detailing US tactical responses to possible warfare, including various targeting options and timelines, which will subsequently be shown to President Trump.


Meanwhile, according to CNN Musk holds top-secret security clearance. As a special government employee in the Trump administration, he must demonstrate a 'need to know' basis before accessing specific information, as per US classified information protocols. Amidst ongoing scrutiny of his governmental position, which the White House confirms as a special employee, neither the White House nor Musk has verified his upcoming Pentagon visit.
