Soon after the shooting incident at White House, US President Donald Trump shared his first reaction on Truth Social saying 'let the show go on'. He appreciated the security services for evacuating the venue and acting 'quickly and breavely'.

"Quite an evening in D.C. Secret Service and Law Enforcement did a fantastic job. They acted quickly and bravely. The shooter has been apprehended, and I have recommended that we "LET THE SHOW GO ON" but, will entirely be guided by Law Enforcement," he said in a post on Truth Social.

A shooting incident occured at the venue of annual White House Correspondents' ‌Association ⁠dinner when loud bangs were heard, leading to prompt evacuation of the venue where hundreds of journalists and cabinet ministers were present along with senior officials of the US government. The security incident took place outside the room where the president and other officials were attending dinner.

They will make a decision shortly. Regardless of that decision, the evening will be much different than planned, and we'll just, plain, have to do it again," Trump added.

He highlighted that the law enforcement agency has requested the attendees to leave the premises.

"Law Enforcement has requested that we leave the premises, consistent with protocol, which we will do, immediately," he said.

Trump is set to give a press conference from the White House Press Briefing Room. He informed that First Lady Melania Trump, Vice President JD Vance and all Cabinet members are in "perfect condition."

"I have spoken with all the representatives in charge of the event, and we will be rescheduling within 30 days," he said.

Agencies probing the White House shooting incident

The United States Secret Service is investigating the shooting incident at the White House and has taken the shooter into custody.

Anthony Guglielmi, Chief of Communications for the Secret Service, said that the teams are on ground assessing the situation and investigating and ensured that all the protectees are safe.

The US Secret Service, in coordination with the Metropolitan Police Department, is investigating a shooting incident near the main magnetometer screening area at the White House Correspondents' Dinner, the agency said in a statement.
