The actual cabin where Parton spent her childhood is privately owned and is not open to the public, according to local tourism and cabin-rental sources. But fans have another way to experience it.

Dollywood has an exact replica of the cabin

An exact replica of Parton’s childhood home can be found at Dollywood, her 165-acre theme park in nearby Pigeon Forge. The replica sits near the park’s entrance and reportedly contains “original treasures” from the Parton family.

According to Visit My Smokies, the replica was built by Dolly’s brother Bobby, while the interior design was approved by their mother, Avie Lee. The recreation offers visitors a rare look at the modest surroundings in which Parton and her siblings were raised.

Dollywood officials have also said the park will remain open following Parton’s death, honoring what she wanted for the attraction.

Parton frequently spoke about growing up in a large family with limited resources. Her parents, Robert Lee and Avie Lee Parton, raised their children without electricity or running water, she said in a 2025 PEOPLE interview.

In a January 2026 Rolling Stone feature, Parton recalled: “We didn’t have anything. Mama used to sew all of our quilts and curtains for the windows, remake our clothes, and make clothes out of feed sacks or scraps.”
