Demon Slayer -Kimetsu no Yaiba- The Hinokami Chronicles 2 is set to launch worldwide on August 5, 2025, bringing new arcs, characters, and game modes to fans of the hit anime series. Published by SEGA, the sequel will be available on PS4, PS5, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and Steam.

What's New in the Sequel?


The game picks up right where the original left off, continuing to adapt iconic storylines from the Demon Slayer franchise. The new story mode will cover three major arcs:


Entertainment District
Swordsmith Village
Hashira Training

Just like the first game, players will once again step into the shoes of Tanjiro Kamado and other beloved characters to relive these intense narrative moments.

VS Mode with 40 Fighters


A highlight of Hinokami Chronicles 2 is its expanded versus Mode, featuring 40 playable characters drawn from the series' most iconic heroes and villains. Players can engage in 3D battles against the AI or challenge others online and locally in 1v1 matches. The game supports 1–2 players and includes online multiplayer.

Deluxe Edition: $70 USD (includes early access from August 1, 2025)
Physical Editions: Available for PlayStation and Nintendo Switch

The first Hinokami Chronicles game received over 16,000 Steam reviews and boasts a Very Positive rating, making it one of the most well-regarded anime games in recent years. The sequel currently holds a “Mostly Positive” rating on Steam with an average approval score of 78% based on early impressions.
