'Brutal American': Article dubs Donald Trump and JD Vance as rude, mafia dons; creates Twitter storm

A report by The Atlantic has created a storm on Twitter. The article, titled "The Rise of the Brutal American – This Is How the Bad Guys Act," has struck a nerve with many Americans.

"Europeans needed some time to process this event, not just because of what it told them about the war in Ukraine, but because of what it told them about America, a country they thought they knew well," the article stated.

"In just a few minutes, the behavior of Donald Trump and J. D. Vance created a brand-new stereotype for America: not the quiet American, not the ugly American, but the brutal American," it added.



The Atlantic further asserted, "Whatever illusions Europeans ever had about Americans—whatever images lingered from old American movies, the ones where the good guys win, the bad guys lose, and honor defeats treachery—those are shattered."

The article dubbed US president Donald Trump and vice president JD Vance as 'rude and cruel'.


The article added, "They berated and mistreated a guest on camera, and then boasted about it afterward, as if their ugly behavior achieved some kind of macho “win.”

"If Reagan was a white-hatted cowboy, Trump and Vance are Mafia dons."


The article has become a major talking point on X.

"Brutal American?! I gladly accept the new label of the left!" wrote one user.


Another posted, "A million Americans died in combat defending our country. So we could hand it over to a f***** Nazi from South Africa???"

A different X user supported the views expressed in the report, saying, "The Greatest Generation didn't attack Greenland. Or Panama. Or Canada. They DESTROYED Nazis like Trump."


Many Americans also took to X to embrace the title of 'Brutal American.'

One user, supposedly a non-US citizen, even commented, "I'm so jealous that I'm not American."
