BMW said it does not expect newly imposed U.S tariffs to remain in place until the end of the year, adding that if the situation changed, so would its outlook.

BMW forecast a 5-7% earnings margin for its automotive segment in 2025, but that calculation was based on the assumption that the tariffs imposed so far would remain in place until the end of the year, which the carmaker does not expect to be the case, executives Oliver Zipse and Walter Mertl said.

"If the situation changes, we will need to adjust the outlook," CFO Mertl added.
