If you are the son of US President, it is not easy to live a normal college life. But Barron Trump, youngest son of Donald Trump and Melania, seems to have found a way.

Barron Trump, 19, has a new mode for talking with college pals at New York University. He avoids giving his phone numbers to college pals, according to New York Post.

Barron Trump barred from sharing phone number

It was previously reported that the Trump scion, who is constantly followed by Secret Service agents on campus, had been asking peers to talk online via Discord, the chat app for gamers. He is now talking with friends on another gaming platform, Xbox, the report said.

'He has added it to his repertoire,' a source told Page Six. 'It's his communication platform of choice.' Barron, who is studying finance at New York University Stern School of Business, is constantly guarded by the Secret Service on campus at all times - thus limiting his opportunities to socialize face-to-face.

He is also forbidden from giving out his number to avoid it leaking further afield. The source told the outlet that it 'creates more trouble than it's worth.'

'If people get the number, they would give it out and then a million people would be calling non stop. 'You'd have to change the number constantly and it'd become a merry-go-round,' they added.

It was earlier reported that Barron Trump “hardly exists” on campus — moving in and out of class quickly and surrounded by Secret Service — making it hard for him to make friends like a normal college student.

Our source tells us that the 6-foot-7 freshman connects via gaming platforms because he cannot give out his phone number due to security reasons, and to keep his number from getting out to the public.

“It’s his work around,” says the source. “He’s still trouble shooting.”

Barron and technology

This isn't the first time that Barron has been in the spotlight for his use of technology. In a recent conversation with Laura Ingraham, President Trump mentioned that his son had 'an unbelievable aptitude in technology.'

'I turn off his laptop, I said, "Oh good" and I go back five minutes later, he's got his laptop. I said, "How'd you do that?"' Trump said.

Apparently his son replied, 'None of your business, Dad,' the 78-year-old revealed. Trump went on to say that even out of politics or business, Barron's strengths lie in technology. In other instances, Trump has said that Barron is 'pretty popular,' even moreso than his other sons.

Melania Trump even said that Barron is the reason Trump brought in a lot of young voters.

'He was very vocal, and he gave an advice to his father, and was incredible how he brought in a success because he knew exactly who his father needs to contact and to talk to,' Melania said.
