Barbara Bush, George Bush's daughter, says her 7-month-old son is nearly the same weight as her 3-year-old

In a shocking revelation, Barbara Bush shared that her 7-month-old son weighs nearly as much as her 3-year-old daughter. The former first daughter co-hosted Monday’s episode of “Today With Jenna and Friends” with her twin sister, Jenna Bush Hager, when she spoke about welcoming son Edward Finn in August 2024, reports Page Six.

“Well, he’s a big guy,” Barbara admitted. “He’s a very big guy. He’s 30 pounds. To put it in context, my 3 year-old is 32 pounds. So, he’s large and in charge!”

Jenna, 43, added that they have “no intention of body shaming him.” “No, he’s perfectly proportionate and just along for the ride,” Barbara, also 43, remarked.


As Barbara shared the update, the “Today” show displayed rare photos of her and her husband, Craig Coyne, enjoying time with their children, Edward and Cora Georgia.

The average 7-month-old boy weighs approximately 18 pounds, five ounces, according to the World Health Organization. However, the Mayo Clinic points out that babies typically gain weight quickly in the first six months and then level out as they grow to be a toddler and get more active.

Jenna was the first to announce that Barbara and Coyne had welcomed their second child, as Barbara mostly stays out of the spotlight.

“My sissy had a little mister and I fell madly in love with Edward Finn!” Jenna captioned her Instagram post on Aug. 5, 2024.

Barbara and Coyne, who married in October 2018, welcomed their first child, daughter Cora Georgia, in September 2021.

Barbara and Jenna’s parents, former President George W. Bush and former First Lady Laura Bush, became grandparents for the first time in April 2013 when Jenna and her husband, Henry Hager, welcomed their daughter, Mila. Jenna and Henry, married since 2008, are also parents to daughter Poppy, 9, and son Hal, 5.
