“More than eight years ago, Angelina filed for divorce from Mr. Pitt,” Jolie's attorney, James Simon, said in a statement. “She and the children left all of the properties they had shared with Mr. Pitt, and since that time she has focused on finding peace and healing for their family. This is just one part of a long ongoing process that started eight years ago. Frankly, Angelina is exhausted, but she is relieved this one part is over.”

Brad Pitt's girlfriend encouraged him to settle divorce?
Brad Pitt's girlfriend Ines de Ramon reportedly encouraged him to settle his nearly decade-long divorce battle with Angelina Jolie so that they could move on with their life together. “He was influenced by Ines to finally settle," an insider told Page Six.“Ines wants to have a life together — with possibly children in the future — without the albatross that was the eight-year War of the Roses.”
“She has made [it known that] her opinion is that life would be much more enjoyable with this settled,” the source added.

Jolie filed for divorce in 2016, after a private jet flight from Europe during which she said Pitt physically abused her and their children. The A-listers have since been locked in bitter battle over custody and other issues ever since.
The FBI and child services officials investigated Pitt's actions on the flight. Two months later, the FBI released a statement saying it would not investigate further, and the U.S. attorney did not bring charges.
The endless, Byzantine legal war over their French winery, Chateau Miraval, is still ongoing, however.
Brad Pitt's girlfriend Ines' involvement revealed
“Ines is positive influence on Brad. She has a really good perspective on things. It’s sad how this whole thing has played out, but at least this is progress in the right direction," another source told Page Six.Jewelry designer De Ramon, 31, and Pitt, 60, first sparked dating rumors in November 2022 and made their first official red carpet debut nearly two years later at the 2024 Venice Film Festival.
A source previously told Page Six that the “Fight Club” star is “so grateful” to have a strong woman like de Ramon by his side, “who not only supports him but isn’t fazed by being in the public eye or all of the issues surrounding Brad’s legal drama.”

The source stated that Ramon “doesn’t let any of those issues come between them or put any type of strain on their relationship.”
She’s somewhat used to a relationship in the spotlight, since she was previously wed to “Vampire Diaries” star Paul Wesley.
Before Jolie, Pitt was married to Jennifer Aniston.
