Amid his $20 billion lawsuit against CBS, US President Donald Trump on Monday unleashed another scathing attack on 60 Minutes, accusing the show of spreading defamatory content and manipulating interviews for political gain.

"Almost every week, 60 Minutes mentions my name in a derogatory and defamatory way, but this weekend’s broadcast tops them all,” he wrote on his social media platform, Truth Social.

He referred to two separate stories aired by 60 Minutes—one regarding the situation in Ukraine and another about Greenland— during this weekend that he believes misrepresented his presidency.

The business magnet argued that the war in Ukraine would never have happened if he were still president, repeating his claim that the 2020 Election was “rigged” and that the current administration's handling of foreign policy is flawed.

In his most recent attack on the network, he also stated that 60 Minutes is not a legitimate news program, but a "dishonest political operative."

The Republican President further demanded that the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) impose significant fines and penalties on CBS for their alleged "unlawful behaviour."

CBS vs Trump

Trump's legal team has filed a multi-billion-dollar lawsuit against 60 Minutes, CBS, and its parent company, Paramount, accusing them of delivering “fraudulent, beyond recognition reporting.”

The two-time US President has claimed that an intentional alteration of an interview with Vice President Kamala Harris was aired just before the 2024 Presidential Election.

"They did everything possible to illegally elect Kamala, including completely and corruptly changing major answers to Interview questions, but it just didn’t work for them. They are not a “News Show,” but a dishonest Political Operative simply disguised as “News,” and must be responsible for what they have done, and are doing. They should lose their license!," he wrote in his fresh attack on Monday.

He alleges that CBS "fraudulently" edited Harris' answers to make her appear more coherent, potentially influencing the election outcome.

He insisted that the network’s actions were part of a broader effort to assist Kamala Harris and the Democratic Party during the election by manipulating interviews.

The lawsuit comes after Trump’s repeated claims that the media, especially outlets like 60 Minutes, are biased against him.
