Germany can be a gateway for Indian Inc to do business in Europe

MUMBAI: India is very strong growth market and not only for overseas companies and fund for investing into it, but also its becoming increasingly important since Indian companies are investing good amount of money into outside India, feels Burkard Dregger, Chairman of Alliance of Business Lawyers & Founder and Managing Partner of Berlin headquartered corporate law firm Dregger Rechtsanwalte.
"Indian companies are expanding their geographical reach in almost all parts of the world," told Mr Dregger to ET in an exclusive interaction. "Currently, many lucrative assets are available at very reasonable price in entire Europe except German and Indian companies should take this opportunity."
The father of three kids, Mr Dregger (57), who is also a member of state parliament, says that, Indian legal system is based on common law system. "Even though, we don't have that law in out country, we know how to work under the said law since we are dealing with many countries where this law is enacted."
For Indian business community who wants to expand their base in Europe, Burkard said, "It's very easy to establish a German subsidiary in Germany which will pave the way to do the business in other geographies in Europe. Also, because of lower interest rates in Europe, Indian company's subsidiary can avail business loan much lower rates compare to India." Mr Dregger was in India for Confederation of Indian Industries (CII)'s panel discussion and business to business ( B2B) meeting with Alliance of Business Lawyers.
