Foursquare's India-born co-founder leaving company
The India-born co-founder of Foursquare has announced he is leaving the company three years after he established it.
Naveen Selvadurai said he will continue to be on the board of Foursquare and advise the company he had co-founded in 2008 with American internet entrepreneur Dennis Crowley.
"After three years, I feel I've done all I can do and I'm moving on," Selvadurai wrote in a blog post.
He said he has not decided upon his next moves but intends to "get back to what I love most - being an entrepreneur, learning and building new things".
The city-based company said it is "sad to see him go, but excited to see what he builds next. We can't thank him enough for everything he's done to make foursquare what it is today".
Foursquare said it has about 15 million users who have "checked-in" from locations across the world over 1.5 billion times. In August 2011 President Barack Obama too had joined foursquare to let the White House staff post tips from places he had visited.
