The first of a series of summits with world leaders on the global economic crisis will likely be held in November, the White House said on Saturday.

WASHINGTON: The first of a series of summits with world leaders on the global economic crisis will likely be held in November, the White House said on Saturday.

"I think that's a reasonable expectation that it would happen" in November, said Tony Fratto, a White House spokesman, in a conference call with reporters.

Fratto spoke after US President George W. Bush, French President Nicolas Sarkozy and European Commission President Jose Manuel Barroso agreed to a series of summits on the global financial crisis.
