Fed chairman Bernake may visit India

The most influential man in the global financial markets may soon come to India. Ben Bernanke, chairman of the US Federal Reserve, is likely to visit India within the next six months on RBI governor YV Reddy’s invitation.

MUMBAI: The most influential man in the global financial markets may soon come to India. Ben Bernanke, chairman of the US Federal Reserve, is likely to visit India within the next six months on RBI governor YV Reddy’s invitation.

The planned visit—reckoned to be the first by a Fed chief—will be preceded by that of another high-profile central banker, Jean Claude Trichet, head of the European Central Bank.

Mr Trichet will deliver the LK Jha memorial address in Mumbai in late November.
