EBay cuts 125 jobs in Europe, North America
Internet auctioneer EBay Inc says it's cutting 125 jobs in Europe and North America as part of an internal reorganisation designed to make the company's services easier to use.
The cuts include 70 positions at the online auctioneer's headquarters in San Jose, California.
Company spokesman Jose Mallabo says the work force reduction is part of a reorganisation to streamline operations - not cut costs. He says the cuts amount to less than 1 per cent of the company's global head count of 15,500 people.
He said the cuts in Europe, including Belgium, Spain and Austria, are the result of a centralisation of corporate functions.
