EADS open to addinga Briton to board
EADS says it is open to the idea of adding a Briton to its board in the event UK firm BAE Systems sells its Airbus stake back to EADS.
“We see it as a natural development,” EADS co-CEO Tom Enders told reporters.“We can certainly envision having a British person on our board,” he said.
The UK is a major market for both airliners and defence equipment for EADS.BAE is considering exercising a put option it holds to sell its 20% in Airbus back to EADS but whether it will carry through with the sale is uncertain after investment bank Rothschild, acting as arbitrator, set a lower value on the stake than BAE had hoped.
