Dubai Shopping Festival opens on Thursday
The much-awaited Dubai Shopping Festival will open on Thursday, heralding the beginning of 32 days of shopping, lucky contests and family entertainment.
Across Dubai, visitors and residents are eagerly waiting for a season of celebration that will engulf the city between January 24 and February 24.
With over a hundred events including a wide spectrum of activities for every age group, DSF 2008 will feature some inclusions this year to add to the excitement.
"After months of careful preparation and planning, DSF 2008 is finally here. Innovation is integral to every DSF edition and this will be very much evident in the coming 32 days through the shopping and entertainment activities in the Festival," Laila Suhail, Chief Executive Officer of DSF said.
With more than 4,000 retail shops and 40 shopping malls, DSF 2008 promotions will be breathtaking for all. Offers, added value promotions, sales and discounts reaching up to 75 per cent on international brands will surely further position Dubai as the leading shopping haven in the world.
One of the major attraction of the DSF is Global Village which has pavilions from all over the world. Over the years, the biggest pavilion is that of India, which showcases the country's culture and handicrafts.
The pavilion offers a vast range of Indian products and cuisine, besides cultural performances. Global Village opened on December 13 last year and will welcome visitors till March 1, says Sunil Bhatia, CEO, E4 Entertainment.
