NEW YORK: Within hours of Barack Obama and his running mate Joe Bidden making their first appearance together, the Democratic Party sent out emails to millions of its registered supporters seeking a minimum of USD 15 donation and promising first car magnet of their presidential ticket.

The magnet, which the supporters can put on their cars, reads 'OBAMA BIDEN' and apparently the Party believes that it could become a collector's item.

Analysts say that one of the reasons for the Obama campaign using text messaging to announce vice presidential choice was to send the message that it is in tune with current realities and show its closeness to the young voters who had been the mainstay of Obama during the primaries.
