A delegation from the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace on Tuesday met prime minister Manmohan Singh

NEW DELHI: A delegation from the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace on Tuesday met prime minister Manmohan Singh, home minister P Chidambaram, HRD minister Kapil Sibal and the PM’s national security advisor Shiv Shankar Menon.

The delegation led by the think tank’s chairman Sir Richard Giordono included Sunil Mittal, chairman & Group CEO, Bharti Enterprises and member of the board of trustees, Carnegie Endowment for International Peace.

“Given India’s vital geo-political importance, Carnegie is eager to explore creating a South Asia centre here. We are greatly encouraged by the interest shown by senior Indian officials and thought leaders in this regard,” said Jessica Mathews, President, Carnegie Endowment for International Peace.
