Japan's Daiwa Securities Group Inc will tie up with Brazil's Banco Itau in five areas including asset management and investment banking.

TOKYO: Japan's Daiwa Securities Group Inc will tie up with Brazil's Banco Itau in five areas including asset management and investment banking, a national newspaper said on Thursday.

The deal, to be announced on Thursday, would mark the first full-scale alliance between a major Japanese broker and a major Brazilian financial group, the newspaper said.

The partnership will cover asset management, the handling of stock orders, investment banking, the sharing of research, and personnel exchanges, the newspaper said. The partnership could evolve into a capital alliance in the future, the newspaper added.
